Renaissance Charter School St. Lucie is a public tuition-free charter school serving students in grades Kindergarten to 8th Grade from all over St Lucie County, we are not zone specific.
Our academic program is focused on meeting the needs of all students. We do this through our student data conferences, student-led conferences, student data notebooks, intensive small group instruction everyday, RTI, and our extensive tutoring program. In addition to these programs, we also have a Cambridge Advanced Studies program for students that are high achieving and demand a more accelerated and enriching program. This program is by application only and we have a very selective process of ensuring that students who are high-performing with a high desire to learn are pushed to their highest potential. Our Cambridge program not only includes gifted instruction, but it also includes global awareness by ensuring that students are ready for global competitiveness. In middle school we offer high school level classes in Algebra, Geometry, Spanish, and Biology.
One thing that sets RCSSL apart from other schools is that we teach to the whole child. It is important to us to meet the social and emotional needs of all students. We are a PBIS school, which helps support positive behavior. We teach character education and have a character trait of the month where we focus on character traits that all productive citizen should have through our SEL (Social Emotional Learning) program. Morning meetings are an integral part of the first part of our day. Teachers, staff, and students spend time getting to know each other, guiding each other with character development, and build team capacities. Through our SEL programs we also offer a wide variety of family and parent supports, classes, and activities.
We have the largest middle school sports program in the St. Lucie School District. 5th grade through 8th grade can try out for sports.
