When school is out for summer, many families lose access to the free breakfasts and lunches their children rely on during the school year. Thankfully, there are programs in St. Lucie County that help ensure kids and teens can continue receiving free, nutritious meals all summer long.
If your family could use a little extra support this summer, or if you know someone who might benefit, here are two important resources to know about.
Summer BreakSpots offer free meals to kids and teens 18 and under at locations throughout Florida during summer break. Depending on the site, children may receive breakfast, lunch, snack, or dinner at no cost.
There are multiple Summer BreakSpot locations throughout St. Lucie County, making it easy for families to find a nearby meal site. Parents can use the interactive Summer BreakSpot map to search for meal locations or call 2-1-1 for help. We recommend calling locations for more specific information so you know what to expect before heading out.
2. Treasure Coast Food Bank Summer Meals Program
The Treasure Coast Food Bank summer meals program also helps provide free meals and snacks to children and teens 18 and under from June 8–August 7, 2026.
You can find participating community locations in Martin, Indian River, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie Counties on the Treasure Coast Food Bank website. No registration is required to receive a free meal—children can just show up during the specified time. Meals are served on a first-come, first-served basis and are to be eaten at the site.
For Grab-N-Go sites, children must be present to receive a meal, or the parent must provide proof of eligibility for that child, such as a birth certificate. We recommend visiting the website to read all of the details and calling (772) 489-3034 with any questions.
