Keep the learning fun and interactive with help from family activities through the St. Lucie County Library System.

Children and family programs for November include:  

  • LEGOs and More on Saturdays, Nov. 2 & 16 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lakewood Park Branch. Join the library staff for building and creating with LEGO bricks along with cards, board games and crafts.
  • S.T.E.A.M. Power! Explore the world of science, technology, engineering, art & math in a storytime. Most suited for students in kindergarten through 5th grade.
    • Saturday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. at the Hurston Branch
    • Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 4:30 p.m. at the Lakewood Park Branch
    • Thursday, Nov. 7 at 5 p.m. at the Lewis Branch
    • Saturday, Nov. 9 at 2:30 p.m. at the Morningside Branch 
  • Kids Crafternoon on Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Enjoy an afternoon of crafts at the library. All materials supplied. Best suited for kids in grades 3 - 8.
  • LEGO Fun at the Library on Thursday, Nov. 14 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Come enjoy building and creating with LEGO bricks in the library. Best suited for elementary ages.
  • Family Game Night on Thursday, Nov. 14 from 6 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Join us at the library for some good old board game fun. This is a family event for Family board game night
  • Bilingual Storytime on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at the Morningside Branch. Join Ms. Lisa and Ms. Ana for a special family storytime in English and Spanish.
  • Game Day: Cards, Monopoly and more. Bring a few friends and a love for games and join us for some good old-fashioned board game fun. Games provided or bring your favorites.
    • Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 4:30 p.m. at the Lakewood Park Branch
    • Thursday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m. the Lewis Branch
  • Thanksgiving Themed Storytime on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hurston Branch. Celebrate Thanksgiving with a special Thanksgiving-themed storytime.
  • Yoga Bugs on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Lewis Branch. Through stories, songs, and playful yoga poses, little ones will explore mindfulness and self-regulation in a supportive and fun environment. Designed for ages 3-5 years. No experience or equipment is necessary. Space is limited.
  • Thanksgiving Themed Story Book Craft on Friday, Nov. 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hurston Branch. Get excited for Thanksgiving with a holiday themed story and craft.
  • Kid Craft Time on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lakewood Park Branch. Let’s create paper leaf wreaths. All supplies provided. Best suited for ages 10 and older. 
  • Movie Matinee: “The Garfield Movie” on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 3 p.m. at the Hurston Branch. Garfield goes on a wild outdoor adventure with Odie and his long-lost father. This film is rated PG with a running time of 103 minutes.
  • Movie Matinee: “Harold and the Purple Crayon” On Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. at the Kilmer Branch. Harold can make anything come to life simply by drawing it, but he finds he has a lot to learn about real life. This film is rated PG with a running time of 90 minutes.
  • Kids Crafternoon on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 2:15 p.m. at the Morningside Branch Join us for a fun holiday themed Crafternoon. A variety of new supplies will be provided along with several project ideas.
  • Thanksgiving Craft on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hurston Branch. Join us in making a Thanksgiving Day craft. Supplies will be provided. All ages welcome.

Teens and Teens:

  • Teen/Tween Crafternoon on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 4:15 p.m. at the Morningside Branch. Join us for a fun crafternoon at the library. A variety of new supplies will be provided along with several project ideas. You can follow along with a new craft or work on your own project. Supplies provided. 
  • Teen Crafternoon on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Enjoy an afternoon of crafts at the library. Best suited for ages 11-18. All materials supplied.
  • Teen Table Time on Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Lewis Branch.  Tweens and teens gather for various role-playing game adventures across fantastical worlds. Best suited for kids ages 11-18.
  • Teen Gaming Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Lewis Branch. Swing into the library for a Nintendo Switch tournament. Best suited for ages 11-18.

Weekly Programs:

  • Family Storytime at 10:30 a.m. Designed for children up to age 5, but all ages are welcome.  
    • Mondays at the Pruitt Campus Library (no storytime No. 11 or Nov. 25)
    • Tuesdays at the Lakewood Park Branch
  • Just Baby & Me on Tuesdays at the Lewis Branch (Two sessions at 10:30 and 11 a.m.). Fun for you and your baby. Best suited for infants up to 1 year old.
  • Storytime Jam at 10:30 a.m. Clap, dance and listen to stories. For ages 3-5.
  • Wednesdays at the Kilmer Branch
  • Thursdays at the Hurston Branch
  • Fridays at the Lewis Branch
  • Music & Motion for Kids at 10:30 a.m. - Action songs, movement, singing and fun. For children younger than 6 with a caregiver.
    • Wednesdays at the Lewis Branch (2 sessions: 10:30 & 11 a.m.)
    • Wednesdays at the Morningside Branch
    • Fridays at the Lakewood Park Branch
  • Tales & Play on Fridays at the Morningside Branch. Children ages infant to 5 years old and their caregivers are invited for a storytime. Afterward, all are welcome to stay for some open playtime.
  • Pre-school Storybook Craft at 10:30 a.m. Children ages 4 and 5 are invited to listen to stories and then join their parents and caregivers for a related craft.
  • Thursdays at the Lakewood Park Branch
  • Fridays at the Hurston Branch
