Free / Lower-Cost Internet Services

By Education Foundation of St. Lucie County July 29, 2024

With the growing reliance on the internet for education the need for affordable and reliable internet has never been greater. Recognizing this necessity, the Education Foundation of St. Lucie County and St. Lucie Public Schools are proud to introduce a new initiative aimed at offering Free/Lower Cost Internet Services.

Through funding from St. Lucie County and a partnership with Comcast, we are able to offer multiple options for qualifying families with students enrolled in a public school in St. Lucie County.  Once a household qualifies for the free or reduced-cost Internet service, payments will continue as long as a household student is enrolled in a St. Lucie County Public School.

There are three choices of service available for families that qualify, available where Comcast services are provided:

  1. If you do not currently have internet access, you may be able to receive Comcast internet free of charge. This service is for 100/20 Mbps Internet speeds.
  2. If you currently have a regular Comcast plan, and wish to keep your current level of service, you may qualify for a $30 monthly credit.
  3. If you currently have internet with Comcast through the federal Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which is expiring soon, you may be able to continue with free service if you switch to this plan.

The Education Foundation of St. Lucie County and St. Lucie Public Schools are hosting an RSVP only event Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the School District Office, 9461 Brandywine Lane, Port St. Lucie, 34986.
