The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) has celebrated Park and Recreation Month in July for nearly 40 years, recognizing the work of industry professionals and the differences they make in communities across the country.

The City of Port St. Lucie features nearly 50 unique parks and recreational facilities, all offering endless opportunities to relax, play, exercise, learn or enjoy the Florida sunshine. The City of Port St. Lucie Parks and Recreation Department also facilitates a variety of special events that residents and visitors of all ages look forward to year-round.

“We strive to provide residents with resources that can help improve their social, physical and mental health through recreational activities and shared public spaces that foster a sense of community," said Brad Keen, Port St. Lucie Parks and Recreation Department Acting Director. "In recognition of Park and Recreation Month, we encourage people to take advantage of these resources and enjoy everything the City has to offer.”

NRPA and the City of Port St. Lucie Parks and Recreation Department encourage everyone who supports parks and recreation to share how it has fostered belonging, as well as why their local park and recreation professionals are important to them, on social media, with #WhereYouBelong.
