March into St. Lucie County Libraries for Family Fun

Experience a variety of programs designed to stimulate literacy and socialization skills with family programming through the St. Lucie County Library System.

Children’s and family activities for March include:  

  • Movie Matinee: “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” (2023) on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Morningside Branch. The turtle brothers work to earn the love of New York City while facing down an army of mutants. This animated feature is rated PG with a running time of 99 minutes.

  • S.T.E.A.M. Power! Explore the world of science, technology, engineering, art & math in a storytime. Most suited for students in kindergarten through 5th grade.
    • Hurston Branch on Saturday, March 2nd at 3:00 PM
    • Lakewood Park Branch on Wednesday, March 6th at 4:30 PM
    • Morningside Branch on Saturday, March 9ht at 2:30 PM

  • Crazy 8’s Math Club on Wednesdays, March 6th & 13th at 3:30 PM at the Kilmer Branch. The Crazy 8’s math club is back and now it is for the lower grades. Students in grades K through 2 can learn math in exciting new ways. The final weeks are funny money and the toilet paper Olympics.

  • Teddy Bear Picnic Storytime on Saturday, March 16th at 10:30 AM at the Morningside Branch. Join us for a Teddy Bear Picnic! Children are invited to listen to teddy bear tales, enjoy a snack and make bear-themed crafts. Don’t forget to bring your favorite stuffed animal to the picnic.

  • Craft Time at the Library on Saturday, March 16th from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Hurston Branch. Make a stained-glass wax paper suncatcher. Best suited for students in grades 2 and up.

  • Giant Sticker Puzzle on Tuesday, March 19th through Saturday, March 23rd at the Hurston Branch. Stop by and help us work on a giant sticker puzzle over Spring Break. All supplies are provided. Best suited for students in grades kindergarten and up.

  • Craft Time at the Library on Wednesday, March 20th from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Hurston Branch. Kick off spring with a craft and paint your own wind chimes. All supplies are provided. Best suited for students in grades 2 and up.

  • Game Day: Cards, Monopoly and More on Wednesday, March 20th at 4:30 PM at the Lakewood Park Branch. Bring a few friends and a love for games and join us at the library for some good old-fashioned board game fun. Some supplies provided or bring your favorites.

  • Spring Break Nintendo Switch Mario Kart Tournament on Thursday, March 21st at 2:30 PM at Morningside Branch. Best suited for students in grades 3-8, this tournament allows students to pick their favorite Mario Kart character and vehicle in this head-to-head challenge.

  • Movie Matinee: “Wish” (2023) on Friday, March 22nd at 2:00 PM at the Kilmer Branch. A young woman named Asha makes wild wishes for happiness. After making a wish on a starry night, Asha is surprised when Star, a ball of cosmic energy, comes down to accompany her. Asha and Star must work together to defeat the ruthless ruler who threatens the safety of her local community. This Disney animated feature is rated PG with a running time of 92 minutes.

  • Pixel Art on Saturday, March 23rd from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Hurston Branch. By arranging multicolored square stickers on a grid, you can form fun pixelated images right before your eyes. Best suited for students in grades 2 and older.

  • Kids Crafternoon on Wednesday, March 27th at 4:30 PM at Lakewood Park Branch. Join us in creating handmade journals. All supplies provided. Best suited for students ages 10 and up.

  • Craft Time at the Library on Friday, March 29th at 2:00 PM at the Kilmer Branch. Create a craft and take it home. All supplies provided. Best suited for students in grades kindergarten through 5th grade.

Teens and Teens

  • Anime Multimedia Club on Thursday, March 15th at 4:15 PM at the Morningside Branch With the conclusion of the 8th Annual Crunchyroll Awards, so we all agree with the results? Revisit the top anime of 2023 and discuss if these anime really deserved to win or not. This program is best suited for students in grades 6-12.

  • Teen/Tween Crafternoon on Tuesday, March 19th at 4:15 PM. Visit us at the Morningside Branch on the third Tuesday of the month for a fun afternoon of crafting at the library. A variety of new supplies will be provided along with several project ideas. You can follow along with a new craft, or work on your own project. So, get your creative juices flowing and enjoy a Tuesday crafternoon with us.

Weekly Programs

  • Family Storytime on Mondays at 10:30 AM at the Pruitt Campus Library. Designed for children up to age 5 years, but all ages are welcome. NOTE: No storytime on March 11th for college spring break.

  • Just Baby & Me on Tuesdays (two sessions) at 10:30 AM and 11:00 AM at the Lewis Branch. Songs, stories and movement fun for you and your baby. Best suited for infants up to 1 year.

  • Tales & Play on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM at the Morningside Branch. Children ages 0-5 and their caregivers are invited to story time. Afterward, all are welcome to stay for some open playtime.

  • Music & Motion for Kids - Action songs, movement, singing and fun. For children younger than 6 with a caregiver.
    • Tuesday (2nd & 4th of the month) at 9:00 AM at the Port St. Lucie Branch
    • Fridays at 10:30 AM the Lakewood Park & Morningside Branches

  • Storytime Jam at 10:30 AM. Clap, dance and listen to stories. For ages 3-5.
    • Tuesdays at the Lakewood Park Branch
    • Wednesdays at Kilmer Branch
    • Thursdays at the Hurston Branch

  • Pre-school Storybook Craft at 10:30 AM. Children ages 4 and 5 are invited to listen to stories and then join their parents and caregivers for a related craft.
    • Thursdays at the Lakewood Park Branch
    • Fridays at the Hurston Branch

*NOTE: There will be no storytimes in March at the Lewis Branch due to the site being used as a voting / polling location.
