By City of Port St. Lucie January 18, 2024

Port St. Lucie Utility Systems, in conjunction with Florida Section American Water Works Association (FSAWWA), is pleased to announced a Poster Contest for St. Lucie County students in grades K-12.

St. Lucie County school students in grades K-12 are invited to create a poster depicting a water conservation idea in the "Drop Savers" Poster Contest.

The contest teaches elementary-aged children and reminds middle and high-school-aged teens about the importance of water conservation. Our best opportunity to conserve water is through a long-range education and awareness program.

Entries are due by March 1, 2024. CLICK HERE to download the 2024 Entry Form.

Jenny Tomes, Assistant Manager-USD Community Outreach, is available to speak to classes about the importance of water conservation. She can also provide inspiration for poster entries. To schedule a presentation please contact Jenny Tomes at 772-618-3142.

Posters will be judged by employees of the City of Port St. Lucie based on their message, creativity, and originality. One winner will be selected from each participating grade level.

Winners will receive a $25 Walmart gift card and other prizes. Students will also be invited to attend a special presentation at a City Council meeting. At this meeting, the City Council will recognize their efforts.

The winning posters will be submitted to the statewide “Drop Savers” Poster Contest, which will be held in mid-April.
