Future doctors, veterinarians, and healthcare heroes start at Little Medical School!

Science and STEM are back in session this 2024! Little Medical School of the Treasure Coast offers year-round excitement and learning for young kids ages 5 to 11 years old. Their programs and classes offer hands-on exploration on a variety of topics in science, medicine, and animals. The programs are packed with interactive lessons, themed crafts, and exploration of future careers led by their dedicated and trained instructors. It’s as immersive as it gets!

  • Dog Body Language 101 Class | Ages 5 - 11

    Tuesday, February 6th, 6:15 PM - 7:15 PM | $15 per child
    In this special class on veterinary medicine, kids will learn about physical exams for dogs through some hands-on activities. They will learn some common dog body postures and what they could be saying about how the pet is feeling, list 3 signs that a dog needs more space, list some signals that a dog is relaxed, and list 3 situations that might make a dog not want to be touched or approached.   • Little Veterinarian School Horse After-School Program | Ages 5 - 11

    Wednesday, February 7th - March 13th, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM | $160 per child
    Hello future veterinarian! Kids will learn all about becoming a little veterinarian through fun and creative hands-on activities in this unique 6-week after-school program. These future veterinarians will learn the anatomy of horses, proper horse care, and more.   • All About the Heart Class | Ages 5 - 11

    Tuesday, February 20th, 6:15 PM - 7:15 PM | $20 per child
    In this special class on the heart, kids will learn the different parts of the heart and what it looks like, learn how to use a stethoscope (which they will get to take home), and do a few class exercises together that shows how hard the heart works. CLICK HERE for complete details.



  • Eye Spy Dog Anatomy Class | Ages 5 - 11

    Tuesday, February 20th, 6:15 PM - 7:15 PM | $20 per child
    In this special class on dog anatomy and injuries, kids will name and label the different parts of a dog’s eye, recognize the types of abrasions that can be found in the eye, understand the process that vets use to treat these abrasions, and compare what colors dogs see to what colors people see.   • Wilderness Medicine School Mini-Day Camp at Tradition | Ages 5 - 11

    Thursday, March 14th, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM | $75 per child
    Unleash your wild! Kids will engage in dynamic activities covering various aspects of hands-on medicine in the wilderness in this unique spring break camp. These future adventurers will learn what to do in a forest fire, apply splints and tourniquets, and first aid for hypothermia. Kids will go home with models, worksheets, and more!     Unleash your wild! Kids will engage in dynamic activities covering various themes of hands-on medicine in this unique spring break camp. These future healthcare heroes will learn about the anatomy and function of our spines, how to conduct first aid and build their own first aid kits, and the anatomy and functions of our brain (+ build their own brain “thinking” caps).   • Babysitting 101 Teen Course | Ages 11 and up

    Tuesday, March 19th, 6:15 PM - 7:15 PM | $85 per child
    In this 2.5-hour class designed for students ages 11 and up who are interested in babysitting, pre-teens and teens will have an introduction to basic care, safety, and first aid for infants and children. They will also learn about the developmental stages of infants through school-age children and design activities to use with each age. Health, nutrition, and sleep for each developmental age will be taught. They will also learn the Heimlich maneuver and how to use an EpiPen. Finally, these pre-teens and teens will design a babysitting advertisement for their future business and receive a Little Medical School certificate of completion. CLICK HERE for complete details.



  • Sports Medicine School After-School Program | Ages 5 - 11

    Wednesdays, March 27th - May 1st, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM | $160 per child
    Think fast! Kids will engage in dynamic and hands-on activities to learn about sports medicine in this unique after-school program. These future sports physicians will learn about common sports injuries, Tommy John surgery, and more. Students will go home with models, worksheets, and more!   • Cat Stress & Enrichment Craft Class | Ages 5 - 11

    A stress-free cat is a healthy cat! In this special class on cats, kids will learn about what causes stress for cats, strategies to reduce stress, what makes a great cat toy, and will create their own cat toys using various crafts tools.   • Preparing For A Sibling Class | Ages 5 - 11

    Tuesday, April 16th, 6:15 PM - 7:15 PM | $28 per child
    In this special class on pediatrics, kids will learn about describing how to keep a baby safe when they sleep, discuss the Finnish Baby Box and make their own, write their own book to read to their baby, and learn a song to sing at bedtime. This class is wonderful for kids who are getting ready to become big brothers or sisters for the first time and for moms looking to introduce their kids to the concept of caring for a sibling in a way that helps mom and the family. Kids in this class will go home with their own plushie baby “patient” to continue honing their sibling skills at home.     Is your kid getting ready for a new sibling? After “adopting” their own plushie baby, students will role-play the key responsibilities of a pediatrician and learn how to perform a head-to-toe exam on a newborn. These future pediatricians will learn about diapering, diaper rash, bottling, burping, the infant Heimlich maneuver, childhood immunizations, and safe sleeping. CLICK HERE for complete details.



  • Horse Anatomy 101 Class | Ages 5 - 11

    Let’s “build a horse” and learn about this beautiful animal’s anatomy! In this special class on veterinary medicine, kids will learn about the organs, bones, mouth, and hooves of a horse through hands-on activities. They will build their own horse organ and skeletal anatomy model to take home and will learn about hoof care using tools such as hoof picks, curry combs, and spray bottles.   • Pharmacy & Medications Class | Ages 11 and up

    Tuesday, May 21st, 6:15 PM - 7:15 PM | $15 per child
    Your challenge? Dispense the right amount of medication! In this special class highlighting being a pharmacist for the day, kids will hone their mathematical skills by learning what a prescription is and what information it must contain, discuss what a doctor must consider before prescribing medication, understand how a pharmacist dispenses prescriptions, and practice “prescribing” and “filling” medications orders at different amounts in a fun class game.
