Find Family Fun with St. Lucie County Library Programs this November

Discover early learning opportunities through interactive programs for the whole family via St. Lucie County Library System.

Children’s and family activities for November include:

  • Dia De Los Muertos on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 3:30 PM at the Kilmer Branch. Learn about the customs and traditions of the Mexican holiday: Dia De Los Muertos. Decorate your own sugar skull to take home. All supplies provided. Best suited for students in kindergarten through 8th grade.

  • S.T.E.A.M. Power! Explore the world of science, technology, engineering, art & math in a storytime. Most suited for students in kindergarten through 5th grade.

  • Spy Society on Thursdays, November 2nd & 16th at 4:00 PM at the Hurston Branch. Train to be a secret agent by participating in fun activities and brain games. Best suited for students in grades 4 and up.

  • Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, November 4th anytime between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM at the Lewis Branch. Can you find all the clues? Drop in and give it a try.

  • Movie Matinee: “Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret” (2023) on Saturday, November 4th at 2:30 PM at the Morningside Branch. Based on the novel of the same name by Judy Blume, 11-year-old Margaret finds her life on the cusp of change as her family uproots from the heart of the city to a quiet suburban neighborhood. This movie is rated PG-13 with a running time of 106 minutes.

  • Evening Craft Party on Thursday, November 9th at 5:30 PM at the Kilmer Branch. Make a fun and whimsical craft at the library. All supplies will be provided. Best suited for students in kindergarten through 5th grade.

  • Game Day on Wednesday, November 15th at 4:30 PM at the Lakewood Park Branch. Have a blast with Nintendo Switch. Best suited for ages 10 and older.

  • Fall Scavenger Hunt on Thursday, November 16th from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Morningside Branch. Pick up a scavenger hunt sheet at the youth desk, look for hidden pictures throughout the library and turn it in for a prize once you’re finished. For all ages.

  • Bilingual Storytime (Tiempo de Cuentos) on Friday, November 17th at 10:30 AM at the Lewis Branch. Enjoy a bilingual storytime in both English and Spanish. Most suited for ages 3-5 years.

  • Lego at the Library on Saturday, November 18th from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Lewis Branch. Create with Lego blocks at the library. Pictures of all creations will be displayed. Best suited for elementary-age students.

  • Family Crafternoon on Saturday, November 18th from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Hurston Branch. A variety of supplies will be provided along with several project ideas. All ages welcome.

  • Smash Bros. Switch Tournament on Tuesday, November 21st at 2:00 PM at the Kilmer Branch. Test your skills against others in the Smash Brothers Ultimate. Suitable for ages 8 to 18.

  • Family Fun Activity on Wednesday, November 22nd at 3:00 PM at the Hurston Branch. Build vehicles using Legos to travel down ziplines. Explore slopes, tension and gravity in this exciting Lego challenge. Best suited for 2nd grade and up.

  • Kids Crafternoon on Wednesday, November 22nd at 4:30 PM at the Lakewood Park Branch. Create a masterpiece with paper quilling. All supplies provided. Best suited for ages 10 and older.

  • Movie Matinee: “Lyle Lyle Crocodile” (2022) on Saturday, November 25th at 10:30 AM at the Lewis Branch. Based on the children’s book by Bernard Waberbout, the story follows a crocodile named Lyle, who lives in New York City. The film is rated PG with a running time of 106 minutes.

Teens and Teens

  • Movie Matinee: “Isle of Dogs” (2018) on Saturday, November 4th at 2:00 PM at the Lewis Branch. Set in Japan, the story follows a boy’s odyssey in search of his lost dog. The film is rated PG-13 with a running time of 101 minutes.

  • Anime Multimedia Club on Thursday, November 9th at 4:15 PM at the Morningside Branch. This month, we’ll learn all about Anilist. Learn the ins and outs of this anime tracker and build your own profile. This program is best suited for students in grades 6-12.

  • Dungeons & Dragons on Fridays, November 10th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Lewis Branch. Players gather for adventures across fantastical worlds. Best suited for ages 11 – 18.

  • Nintendo Switch Teen Video Tournament on Saturday, November 18th from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Lewis Branch. Who will be victorious? Best suited for ages 11-18.

  • Teen/Tween Crafternoon on Tuesday, November 21st at 4:00 PM at Morningside Branch. Join us for a fun-filled crafternoon at the library. A variety of supplies will be provided, along with several project ideas. You can follow along with a new craft or work on your own project. So, get your creative juices flowing and enjoy a Tuesday crafternoon with us.

  • Learn How to Draw Comics – Part 2 on Saturday, November 25th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Lewis Branch. The first of a three-part series. All materials supplied. Best suited for ages 11 – 18.

Weekly Programs

  • Just Baby & Me on Tuesdays (two sessions) at 10:30 AM and 11 AM at the Lewis Branch. Songs, stories and movement fun for you and your baby. Best suited for infants up to 1 year.

  • Tales & Play on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM at the Morningside Branch. Children ages 0-5 and their caregivers are invited to story time. Afterward, all are welcome to stay for some open playtime.

  • Pre-school Storybook Craft at 10:30 AM. Children ages 4 and 5 are invited to listen to stories, then join their parents and caregivers for a related craft.
    • Thursdays at the Lakewood Park Branch
    • Fridays at the Hurston Branch

  • Music & Motion for Kids - Action songs, movement, singing and fun. For children younger than 6 with a caregiver.
    • Second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 9:00 AM at the Port St. Lucie Branch
    • Wednesdays (two sessions) at 10:30 AM and 11:00 AM at the Lewis Branch
    • Fridays at 10:30 AM the Lakewood Park & Morningside Branches

  • Storytime Jam at 10:30 AM. Clap, dance and listen to stories. For ages 3-5.
    • Tuesdays at the Lakewood Park Branch
    • Wednesdays at Kilmer Branch
    • Thursdays at the Hurston Branch
    • Fridays at the Lewis Branch (except for the third Friday)

  • Pre-school Storybook Craft at 10:30 AM. Children ages 4 and 5 are invited to listen to stories and then join their parents and caregivers for a related craft.
