Splash! at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center Reopens

September 28, 2022

The City of Port St. Lucie is excited to announce that water is flowing again at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center’s Splash Fountain after extensive upgrades and underground controls relocation over the last year.

To maintain safe water quality, the system includes new equipment with advanced water chemistry controls. In addition, the new underground control panels and pumps were relocated to a climate-controlled room.

"Our upgrades to the interactive fountain will provide everyone an enjoyable community gathering place for residents seeking a free, refreshing and fun destination,” said Roger Jacob, Port St. Lucie’s Facilities Maintenance Director. “We’re excited to have everyone come to share these common traditions with their children and make lifelong memories.”

This popular interactive water feature is at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center, 9221 SE Event Center Place just west of Village Square and is open Monday - Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission is free. Hours could change because of maintenance, weather conditions, including wind and temperature and City holidays.

The Splash Fountain is approximately 5,282 square feet of interactive fun and features 30 fun-waterline streams, 18 can-jet nozzles, 18 can jet nozzles and a pod-jet assembly with 32 jets that spray as high as 4 feet. On warm days, the area can accommodate up to 36 frolicking youngsters and of course, parents, guardians and grandparents are welcome, too. After a good soaking, visitors will be able to rest and dry off under the sun at the eight new park benches installed within the circle. Palm trees provide shade and are in abundance, along with eight additional benches outside the splashpad.
