St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Hosts National Night
Out 2022 to Celebrate and Promote Community Partnerships

Sheriff Ken Mascara announced today that on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Havert L. Fenn Center in Ft. Pierce, the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office and local community partners will host National Night Out 2022 along with over 16,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases around the world.

“This free event gives our community the chance to engage with deputies and our community partners, who are integral in helping us fulfill our mission to serve and protect,” said Sheriff Mascara. “We look forward to connecting with them and sharing how they can take an active role in helping us keep our community safe.”

National Night Out is a nationwide event that heightens crime and drug prevention awareness, generates support for local anti-crime efforts, strengthens neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and sends a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

National Project Coordinator Matt Peskin said, “This is a night for America to stand together to promote awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity. National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement in our fight to build a safer nation. On National Night Out, we invite neighborhoods nationwide to join us in giving crime and drugs a going away party.”

This year’s corporate sponsors are Ring, Associa, AT&T, Academy Sports + Outdoors and Starbucks.

The National Night Out 2022 opening ceremony will feature the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard followed by a performance from Fort Pierce Central Band. E.N.D. IT! dance team will perform later in the evening. The night’s schedule of events also includes live K-9, Drone, and Bomb Team demonstrations.

Throughout the evening, attendees will have an opportunity to visit over 40 informational booths and approximately 13 Sheriff’s Office vehicles on display. Several raffle drawings will also take place between events, and one lucky grand-prize winner will take home a Pit Boss grill.
