Join the St. Lucie County Environmental Resources Department’s team of USA Archery-certified coaches and instructors at the Oxbow Eco-Center on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 9:00 AM to noon for an introduction to this captivating sport. Explore Archery offers extracurricular fun while helping to build strength, endurance, and mental focus.
Classes will be offered monthly through April 2022. Future dates include:

The Explore Archery program employs safety guidelines in accordance with St. Lucie County and CDC Covid-19 protocols. Participants and instructors are encouraged to wear a mask when social distancing is not possible. Class size is limited to 12 participants. Equipment will be sanitized and assigned to each participant. Classes will take place outdoors and the archery range will be set up to accommodate extra distancing between participants and staff.
The Explore Archery Program, a collaboration from USA Archery and the Archery Trade Association, is designed to introduce beginners to the ancient sport of archery. The Oxbow proudly supports the goal of Explore Archery: to serve as a foundation for the development of community based archery programs nationwide.
Instruction during our Explore Archery class will include an outdoor classroom session and range time. Participants should bring a mask, snack, water bottle, closed-toe shoes and appropriate clothing for Florida weather. All archery equipment will be provided. This program is appropriate for ages 10 and older, however participants under the age of 15 must have a legal guardian present. The cost for Explore Archery is $20 per person. The Oxbow Eco-Center houses the Environmental Education and Community Outreach Division of the St. Lucie County Environmental Resources Department. The Oxbow is both an environmental learning center and nature preserve, encompassing 225 acres along the St. Lucie River, located at 5400 NE St. James Drive in Port St. Lucie.
