City of Port St. Lucie Invites Residents to Attend
9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center

The City of Port St. Lucie will host its annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 8:30 at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center. Residents and visitors are welcome to attend. The ceremony will remember those killed, those who survived, and all who were affected.

This year marks the 22nd anniversary of the tragic attacks on our nation. Partner organizations will join us in paying tribute, including the Port St. Lucie Police Department, St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, St. Lucie County Fire District and the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard. Mayor Shannon Martin will emcee the ceremony.

During the ceremony, attendees will hear remarks from Brian Mast, Acting Chief of Police Ricard R. Del Toro, Jr., St. Lucie County Firefighter paramedic Jonathan Fraga and Port St. Lucie Police Department Chaplain Nick Manzie. Additionally, Kahmi Hanna, a student from Treasure Coast High School, will lead the ceremony in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and performing the National Anthem.

After the ceremony, we invite our guests to join us inside the Event Center for light refreshments. For those unable to attend in person, we encourage you to tune in and watch the event live on the City’s Facebook Page.

This occasion serves as an opportunity for our community to come together, reflect, and remember our fallen neighbors, friends, and loved ones lost on that fateful September day.

The MIDFLORIDA Event Center is located at 9221 SE Event Center Place in Port St. Lucie. The event will be held adjacent to the 9/11 monument on the Front Plaza of the Event Center.
