MIDFLORIDA Event Center Announces Outdoor Concert Series

November 2, 2020

The MIDFLORIDA Event Center is kicking off the new year with the launch of an all-new We Love Lucie Concert Series. The details of the series were announced by Port St. Lucie City Manager Russ Blackburn during the annual State of the City Address on Thursday. The series will consist of four outdoor concerts from January to April. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and concerts start at 7:00 PM. The star-studded lineup includes:

Foghat – With some of the best blues-boogie-rock ever recorded, Foghat is kicking off the series with a performance Saturday, January 16, 2021. Formed in 1971, the band has since amassed eight gold records, one platinum and one double platinum record. The band continues today with as much energy as it had back ‘in the day’! Foghat scored hits with the songs "Slow Ride," "Fool for the City," a cover of "I Just Want to Make Love to You," “Stone Blue” and "Third Time Lucky (First Time I Was a Fool)," all of which are still in regular rotation on classic rock radio.

Molly Hatchet – Multi-platinum band Molly Hatchet firmly cemented its place in music history in the late 1970s after the release of its self-titled debut album in 1978. A perfect mixture of English invasion rock, blues, country and gospel remains the unique sound of Molly Hatchet. The band continues its worldwide tour, performing classic hits such as “Flirtin’ with Disaster,” “Devil’s Canyon,” “Gator Country,” “Whiskey Man” and “Dreams I’ll Never See.” After 40-plus years, the band is still workin’ hard, playin’ tough, livin’ fast and Flirtin’ with Disaster!

The Fabulous Thunderbirds – For over 30 years, The Fabulous Thunderbirds has been the quintessential American band. The group’s distinctive and powerful sound, influenced by a diversity of musical styles, manifested itself into a unique musical hybrid via such barnburners as “Tuff Enuff” and “Wrap It Up.” Co-founder Kim Wilson, the sole original member, still spearheads the group as it evolves into its newest incarnation. Molly Hatchet and The Fabulous Thunderbirds will co-headline the second show in the series.

Little River Band – Dubbed “the best singing band in the world” by Eagles founding member the late Glenn Frey, Little River Band will be taking the MIDFLORIDA Event Center stage on Friday, March 26, 2021. LRB’s distinctive harmonies and smooth musical stylings earned chart-topping success throughout the ‘70s and ‘80s with hits that live on today, such as “Reminiscing,” “Cool Change,” “Lonesome Loser,” “The Night Owls,” “Happy Anniversary” and more. Inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame, Little River Band has sold over 30 million records worldwide. It continues to sell out shows from coast to coast, bringing vocal and musical energy to its timeless classic hits.

Jo Dee Messina – Jumpstarting her career, Jo Dee Messina’s breakout song, “Heads Carolina, Tails California,” made her a household name. Following the success of her debut, Jo Dee posted nine No. 1 hits, 16 Top 40 songs, sold over five million albums worldwide and was honored by the Academy of Country Music Awards, Country Music Association Awards, and Grammy Awards. As Jo Dee’s résumé grew, she proved to be a trendsetter and history-maker, becoming the first female in country music history to celebrate three consecutive multi-week, chart-topping songs.

Tracy Byrd – Country hitmaker Tracy Byrd first reached No. 1 in 1993 with “Holdin’ Heaven,” and he followed up with a string of hits that include “Watermelon Crawl,” “Big Love,” “I’m From the Country,” “Ten Rounds With Jose Cuervo,” “Drinkin’ Bone” and “The Keeper of the Stars,” which won ACM Song of the Year honors in 1996. He's released 34 singles and 10 studio albums, four of which have been certified gold, one platinum and one double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Co-headlining the final date of the series, Jo Dee Messina and Tracy Byrd will perform Saturday, April 10, 2021.

The 2021 We Love Lucie Concert Series is presented by MIDFLORIDA Credit Union, and is also sponsored by Southern Eagle Distributing, Inc., Bud Light, Corona Extra, BABE Wine, Sunrise Ford and Sunrise Volkswagen.
