Free Admission Day Returns to the SLC Aquarium September 1st

August 28, 2020

The St. Lucie County Aquarium featuring the Smithsonian Marine Ecosystems Exhibit is again offering Free Admission Day on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM for those that register by calling 772-462-3474.

Guests will be required to sign up over the phone in advance and have one hour to visit the more than 8,000 gallons of marine life. Admission will be spread out in 20-minute increments and visitors will be required to wear a mask. The max amount of people per group is five. The touch tank is still currently a look-only tank.

This 5,000-square-foot facility features several aquatic displays that accurately reflect the habitats and sea life found in the Indian River Lagoon and Atlantic Ocean.

Located 420 Seaway Drive, the Smithsonian Marine Station has teamed with St. Lucie County and other community partners to create this unique educational facility. The exhibit is an outreach effort of the Smithsonian Marine Station, a branch of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History. A fixture in the Fort Pierce community for more than 45 years, the Marine Station is dedicated to understanding the character and diversity of the marine and estuarine habitats of Florida.
