The Savannas Recreation Area and Campground is now offering bicycle rentals to registered guests and day users to be used within the 550-acre preserve.
Located at 1400 East Midway Road, the Savannas Recreation Area is able to provide this bicycle rental program, thanks to a grant that the St. Lucie County Transit Division secured from the Florida Department of Transportation Intermodal Development Program.
The Savannas has more than a dozen bicycles for anyone over the age of 16 to utilize. The bicycle station, located next to the campground office, will provide bicycles on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no cost to Savannas’ registered campers to use the bicycles. Outside users can rent the bikes for $2 per hour or $5 for a half day.
All bikes have six speeds, front and rear safety lighting, adjustable seats, and courtesy baskets. They are lightweight, stable and easy to operate. It is a great way to explore the park including the East Coast Greenway Trail segment located within the park.

The Savannas is open year round for camping as well as public recreational use seven days per week. Public access is available from sunrise to sunset. Please note the playground area inside the Savannas is still closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
