Summer Camp Fun (at Home) with EarthQuest from Oxbow Eco-Center

July 2, 2020

Venture into the remarkable world of nature by joining in EarthQuest, a virtual summer camp experience from the Oxbow Eco-Center. Youth (ages 7-10) are invited to this unique opportunity combining fun activities and learning led by Oxbow’s skilled education staff. The Oxbow Eco-Center’s popular summer day camp programs have moved online in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, providing families with summer camp activities from the convenience and safety of home. In EarthQuest, campers will discover fascinating connections in nature and explore alliances between species such as tortoises and skunks, bats and cacti, alligators and egrets and more.

Two identical sessions of EarthQuest will be offered the weeks of July 27, 2020 and August 3, 2020. These camps will provide live, interactive sessions with Oxbow educators Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Registrants also receive Gilly’s Gear: A box of supplies, resources, and a journal to complete camp activities. In addition, materials are provided for extension activities that participants can complete at their own pace after each daily virtual session. Registered participants pick up their Gilly’s Gear the week prior to camp from the Oxbow Eco-Center in Port St. Lucie. Participants must provide their own computer or tablet with video and microphone capabilities and reliable internet access for the full virtual camp experience.

The cost for a one-week EarthQuest session is $10 per child; limit two participants per device. Learn more by clicking the Summer Camp tab at www.oxboweco.com. Register by calling the Oxbow at 772-785-5833 by Friday, July 17 at noon for either session. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
