SLC Offers Second Chance Financial Educational Assistance at IRSC

If you have been denied financial aid, St. Lucie County’s Human Services Division’s Second Chance program may be able to help. This program is available to St. Lucie County residents who are in need of 10 classes or less to either graduate or to reinstate their financial aid.

Applicants must meet Florida residency requirements as established by Indian River State College. All applicants must have applied for and been denied receiving financial aid. Income eligibility is based on household size and must be at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level. A household is defined as an individual or group of individuals living together as one economic unit regardless of relation. Income guidelines are listed below:

Registration for fall 2020 opens Monday, June 29. Classes start Wednesday, Aug. 19. All inquiries for assistance must be made before Aug. 5, 2020. This program is supported by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as part of an award totaling $334,313. Assistance is based on available funding. Other restrictions apply.
