Kilmer Library Explores the Lost City of Gold March 21st

The Susan Broom Kilmer Library will explore “Dora and the Lost City of Gold” on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 2 p.m. as part of its Movie Matinee.

Featuring Isabela Merced and Michael Peña, this live action movie is based off the popular Nickelodeon cartoon series “Dora the Explorer.”  Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle, nothing could prepare Dora for her most dangerous adventure yet -- high school. Accompanied by a ragtag group of teens and Boots the monkey, Dora embarks on a quest to save her parents while trying to solve the seemingly impossible mystery behind a lost Incan civilization. The film is PG with a running time of 102 minutes.

Other family activities include:

  • Family Storytime is held on the first Saturday of each month at 3 p.m.

  • Storytime Jam on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. for ages 3-5. This early literacy program encourages reading, imagination and socialization.

  • Rhythm and Rhyme Storytime on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. for ages 2-3. This weekly program focuses on early literacy through rhymes, stories, movement and more.

  • Finger Painting and Bubble Play is on the first Wednesday and first Friday of each month, following storytime.

  • Game Day on Wednesday, March 18 at 3 p.m. Students can enjoy a spring break game day fun with board games and video games.

  • Make & Take Crafts provides spring break fun on Thursday, March 19 at 3 p.m. Designed for students in K-5th grade, participants can make a craft and bring it home.

  • S.T.E.A.M. Storytime takes place on Wednesday, March 25 and Friday, March 27 at 10:30 a.m. with science-themed stories.
