Manatee Center To Host The 24th Annual NatureFest, February 22, 2020
Take a walk on the wild side!

The Manatee Observation and Education Center invites you to attend the 24th Annual NatureFest Celebration, a free environmental festival, on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Manatee Center, 480 N Indian River Drive, Fort Pierce 34950.

This environmental festival features nearly 30 exhibitors that showcase the Treasure Coast’s wildlife, natural resources, and Florida’s great outdoors! Families can enjoy the interactive exhibits, touch tank demonstrations and children’s activities. PLUS take selfies with Moe the Manatee, the Manatee Center’s mascot. Local environmental specialists will give brief presentations throughout the day, including: the Florida Forest Service, Sirenian International, Indian River Lagoon Aquatic Preserves, Friends of the Savannas Preserve State Park, and more. Plus visit booths from Smithsonian Marine Station, FAU Harbor Branch, the St. Lucie County Audubon Society, Treasure Coast Wildlife Center, and more. You’ll even see the Florida Forest Service wildfire engine truck and the St Lucie County Citizens Marine Patrol boat and jeep.

Visitors can also explore the Manatee Center Exhibit Hall free of charge all day, with hourly fish feedings and special presentations by the Manatee Center’s staff environmental educator. Don’t forget to stop by the Vanishing Mermaid Gift Shop for deals on your favorite gift shop items. There will also be special local vendors on display throughout the festival selling locally-made natural soaps, honey, scuba lessons, and professional nature photos.

The Manatee Observation and Education Center (MOEC) is a not-for-profit environmental learning center, located in downtown Fort Pierce. Now in its 24th year, MOEC’s mission is to promote understanding and repsonsible actions for the protection of the Treasure Coast’s fragile ecosystem and its inhabitants. Innovative exhibits and displays allow for an up-close look at some of the unique and amazing creatures found along the Treasure Coast, as well as an opportunity to see the threatened Florida manatee in its native habitat.
