Dungeons and Dragons Drops into the Morningside Library January 18th

Enter a world of wizards and dragons as the Morningside Library hosts a “Dungeons and Dragons at the Library” on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 2:00 PM.

Join the library staff for this role-playing game where characters and missions are created by the participants. Players will be able to sit in small groups to play out an exciting scenario. Best suited for students in grades 6 and up, beginners and experienced players are welcome. Dice will be provided.

Additional family activities for the month include:

  • Rhythm and Rhyme Storytime on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM. Through rhymes, stories, movement and more this early literacy program is geared for children ages 2.5 years and older.

  • Storytime Jam takes place on Thursdays at 10:30 AM. Designed for ages 3 to 5, students can clap, dance and listen to stories as they learn literacy and socialization skills.

  • 5th Annual Cupcake Event on Saturday, January 4th at 3:00 PM. Decorate your creation based on your favorite book. (This program will be offered at all branches.)

  • Movie Matinee: “Abominable” on Saturday, January 11th at 3:00 PM. Featuring the voices of Chloe Bennet and Albert Tsai, this movie follows three teenagers who must help a Yeti return to his family while avoiding a wealthy man and a zoologist who want him for their own needs. The movie is rated PG with a running time of 97 minutes.

  • Bilingual Storytime on Friday, January 17th at 10:30 AM. Enjoy stories and music in this bilingual story time presented in Spanish and English.

  • Legos for Kids on Saturday, January 18th at 11:00 AM. Suited for students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Students can play, build and learn with Legos.

  • Beginner Ukulele for Kids on Saturday, January 25th at 2:00 PM. A number of ukuleles are available for use and check out, but feel free to bring your own. No registration is required, but space is limited.
