The City of Port St. Lucie is pleased to announce the groundbreaking of the Riverwalk Boardwalk – Westmoreland Segment on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 5:30 PM.
The event, located at 2454 SE Westmoreland Boulevard, just south of the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens at the site of the City’s future riverfront park, will be held in conjunction with monthly the River Nights event. This segment of the Riverwalk Boardwalk project runs from Westmoreland Park north to Bridge Plaza, terminating just south of the Port St. Lucie Blvd Bridge. It was funded in the City’s Capital Improvement Program and supplemented with a grant from the Florida Inland Navigation District. Design services were provided by Culpepper & Terpening, Inc., and the contract for construction was awarded to Brothers’ Construction, Inc. Construction is scheduled to be complete in Summer 2020.
River Nights is celebrated the second Thursday of the month from October to April from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. After the Groundbreaking ceremony, the public is encouraged to stay and enjoy the River Nights festivities, including food and drink vendors and live music by Rough Shot.
