Get Goosebumps at the Kilmer Library October 19th

Get a second case of “Goosebumps” at the Susan Broom Kilmer Library as the Movie Matinee presents “Goosebumps 2 – Haunted Halloween” on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 2 p.m.

Featuring Wendi McLendon-Covey and Jeremy Ray Tayl, the sequel in this film series based on the popular books, follows two young friends who find a magic book that brings a ventriloquist's dummy to life. The movie is rated PG with a running time of 90 minutes.

Other family activities include:

  • Family Fun Time is held on the first Saturday of each month at 3 p.m.

  • Storytime Jam on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. for ages 3-5. This early literacy program encourages reading, imagination and socialization.

  • Rhythm and Rhyme Storytime on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. for ages 2-3. This weekly program focuses on early literacy through rhymes, stories, movement and more.

  • Finger Painting and Bubble Play is on the first Wednesday and first Friday of each month, following storytime.

  • S.T.E.A.M. Storytime takes place on the third Wednesday and third Friday at 10:30 a.m. for ages 2-5 with hands-on activities focused on science, technology, engineering, art and math.

  • Costume Swap on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. Bring your gently used costume to any branch library before Oct. 5 to receive a ticket that you can exchange for a “new to you”  costume at the swap event.

  • Storytime Halloween Party on Friday, Oct. 25 and Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 10:30 a.m. Students are encouraged to wear their costume to the regularly scheduled storytimes for fun and treats.

  • The open air puppet theater on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 11:30 a.m. will feature “The Witches’ Kitchen.”

Parents and guardians are asked to stay with their children during these events.
