FREE "KIDMania: In the Land of Literacy" Family Festival Coming 10/20

October 6, 2019

Don’t miss KIDMania: In the Land of Literacy, a FREE interactive family event that will feature an incredible drum circle that stars YOU and your family, a bike rodeo, princess and puppet shows and even two soccer obstacle courses, where kids can test their skills.

It’s all brought to you by your friends at the Early Learning Coalition, Children’s Services Council, the City of Post St. Lucie and St. Lucie Schools, on Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Minsky Gym and Whispering Pines Park in Port St Lucie.

In addition to fun activities like an interactive drum circle, princess and puppet shows, this festival will showcase the various family-centric agencies that provide services to the children of St. Lucie County.

Several of the agencies participating, including Early Learning Coalition of St. Lucie County and St. Lucie Reads, will also be distributing FREE books! We are expecting about 2,000 families attending, over the three-hour period.

The Early Learning Coalition is seeking sponsorships, recruiting characters for our Photo Spot and encouraging participation from our area agencies and businesses. Both I-9 Sports and PSL United Soccer Club will be hosting soccer obstacle courses/ clinics.

Many St. Lucie County families depend on free, fun events like this to introduce their children to exciting literacy and learning activities. Here’s a free, fun festival for everyone — remember many of these families don't get the opportunity to go to Disney or other theme parks and meet and greet characters, either!

At Early Learning Coalition, we believe our children are the future. As champions of early childhood education, we oversee and fund early learning programs for all children, including at risk and income eligible children. We understand that our charge is critically important, because 80 percent of a child’s brain is developed by the time they are three years old!

That’s why we develop, implement and monitor the School Readiness Subsidized Childcare and Voluntary Prekindergarten Programs, as governed by Florida’s Office of Early Learning. Our programs ensure that St. Lucie County’s youngest citizens will receive quality, comprehensive early learning services appropriate for their needs, and make sure they enter kindergarten ready to learn.
