Fishing for Futures August 31st to Benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of SLC

August 8, 2019

The call for ‘lines in’ will soon be heard by fishing teams throughout the area in support of the 2nd Annual Fishing for Futures tournament. This unique tournament benefits Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County. Club members, many who have never fished before, will be selected to spend the day on the Lady Chris Deep Sea Fishing.

In addition, the Manatee Center in Ft. Pierce is hosting a variety of free children activities including tours, face painting, K-9 demonstration, Bubbles the Clown, Fire truck, give-aways and more.

The one-day tournament features both inshore and offshore fishing with $12,000 in cash prizes. The captain’s party will be held Friday, August 30, 2019 at the Fairwinds Golf Course. Boats captains will be given the rules, a list of the day’s activities and a ‘goody’ bucket.

“We would like to THANK all of our sponsors who are supporting this great event,” stated Will Armstead, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County. “The list includes title sponsor, the Law Office of Villafranco & Garcia, host partners TRM Construction Management and DLF Media, Southern Eagle Distributing, Bonner Bar, Garber Buick, Treasure Coast Harley-Davidson, UBU Brands, Conchy Joe’s Seafood, Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House, Summit Risk Advisors, Commuter Cars, Walmart, Dibartolomeo/McBee/Hartly and Barnes, PA, Manatee Center, St. Lucie County Sheriff and St. Lucie Fire District.”

Fishing teams, sponsors, vendors and the community are encouraged to support the tournament. “We serve over 8,000 children in our community and we couldn’t do it without the financial support from our events,” added Armstead.
