Glow Bowling Birthday Party July 31st to Celebrate ELC

July 24, 2019

Join the folks at the Early Learning Coalition of St. Lucie County for a Glow Bowling Birthday Party at Superplay Bowling Center in Port St. Lucie on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Your $10 admission includes two hours of bowling and bowling shoes, birthday cake & lemonade, all to celebrate the 20th birthday of the Early Learning Coalition, in support of early childhood education, in St. Lucie County.

No bowling pledge sheets needed here as this is a P-A-R-T-Y not a bowl-a-thon, but you can bring the whole family out for glowingly great time. We want you to party like it's 1999, which is when the ELC was established to promote early childhood education and administer the free Voluntary Pre-K program in Florida.

At the Early Learning Coalition, we open doors to success for young children through our quality childcare and educational programs and services, championing the importance of early childhood education. This includes Child Care Resources and Referrals for all families, free Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (up to 540 hours) for all 4-year-olds, and School Readiness Subsidized Child Care for birth to age 13.

Purchase tickets securely and quickly at Early Learning Coalition’s Facebook Page: ELC Glow Bowling Birthday Party or directly from Eventbrite HERE.

About the Early Learning Coalition of St. Lucie County, Inc.

Legislation and determination have successfully driven the Early Learning Coalition of St. Lucie County, Inc. since its humble beginnings as the School Readiness Coalition in 1999.

Community leaders spearheaded a grassroots effort to meet the needs of St. Lucie County’s young children, working with School Readiness Statute 411, which created the SR Coalition and held it responsible for serving children birth - 5 in order to prepare them for kindergarten.  All prekindergarten programs in the county school system and subsidized childcare programs moved under the coalition’s direction.

With community leaders’ combined efforts, they created a program delivery system that served as the foundation for a curriculum that addresses pre-academic skills, physical & mental health and parenting skills.  At the same time, they worked towards enhancing the quality of preschool programs, creating a system of childcare and providing school readiness services on a full day, full year basis.

When the School Readiness Coalition transitioned into the Early Learning Coalition of St. Lucie County in 2005, services once contracted to several agencies, were brought in-house. That year Governor Bush signed into law a bill calling for the Voluntary Prekindergarten Program (VPK) to be available to every eligible 4-year-old child at no cost to parents.

Today, the Early Learning Coalition provides families with all quality early learning and school readiness experiences for children birth - 5 through our School Readiness and voluntary prekindergarten programs, as well as childcare referrals and resources for all families.
