ST. LUCIE COUNTY - United Way of St. Lucie County needs volunteers for its Annual Stuff the Bus event. It is a one day push for the collection of school supplies at all local Walmart locations in St. Lucie County. This year the event will be held on July 20, 2019 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Volunteers are needed to assist with collecting the school supplies. Volunteers serve in 2 hour shifts at the Walmart of their choosing.
The volunteers stationed at the Walmart stores will collect supplies purchased by customers who are shopping on Saturday. The volunteers help pass out flyers to the patrons, collect the supplies and donations, and count the supplies as they come in. Every volunteer receives a Live United t-shirt to wear at the event. Last year United Way collected over 5,000 items and just of $2,000 in donations.

United Way utilizes these supplies in our Tools for School St. Lucie Program. Tools for Schools is a free teacher resource store where teachers can come and shop for the supplies needed by students in their classrooms. Great way to impact the students directly!
