Tykes & Teens was awarded the inaugural Impact 100 St. Lucie grant in April of this year. With the money, Tykes & Teens will be opening an outpatient office to service St. Lucie County children and their families. To celebrate this incredible milestone, Tykes & Teens will be hosting an Empower Shower & Open House to invite community members and supporters to tour the new facility on Sunday, July 28th from 2:00-4:00 PM.
The new outpatient office will service children ages 5-12. Currently, Tykes & Teens offers their Infant Mental Health and TRUST programs in St. Lucie County. The Infant Mental Health program is for children ages birth to 5 in their home setting, and the TRUST program services all after school programs in St. Lucie County and trains their staff on Trauma-Informed Care. The opening of this office will allow access to care for hundreds of children and their family who did not have the means to travel to Martin County to receive services previously.
Tykes & Teens has been providing affordable and accessible mental health care to children and their families in Martin County since 1996. With the need for quality mental health care increasing each year, Tykes & Teens continues to grow to meet that need. In recent years services have expanded into St. Lucie, Indian River, and Okeechobee Counties. Programs are being introduced to each county on an as-needed basis with the goal of duplicating every program available in Martin County in the surrounding three counties. Thanks to the generosity of Impact 100 St. Lucie, we are one step closer to achieving that vision for the St. Lucie community.
All community members are invited to join in the festivities on Sunday, July 28th. Light refreshments will be provided, and therapists and executive staff will be on-site to talk about the programs that will be offered in the new office.
