St. Lucie County Parks to Replace Playground at Weldon B. Lewis Park

July 11, 2019

St. Lucie County Parks and Recreation staff will be replacing the playground at Weldon B. Lewis/Ancient Oaks Preserve, starting July 22, 2019.

The park and hiking trails on the preserve will remain open. However, crews expect the playground will be under construction through the end of September. In addition to replacing the playground equipment, crews will be working on drainage issues in the playground area.

Located at 4650 Oleander Ave., this multi-use park features more than 50 acres with athletic fields, a pavilion, restrooms and a one-mile trail through Ancient Oaks Preserve. The site opened in 2006 and was named after former St. Lucie County Administrator Weldon B. Lewis.

St. Lucie County has more than 42 miles of trails on its 10,000-plus acres of nature preserves. For an interactive map of all county parks and preserves visit: http://gis.stlucieco.gov/Parksfinder
