Just in time for Daylight Savings next week, why not make this easy paper craft with the kids? Turn it into a lesson about telling time; explain the difference between the two hands on the clock, what the numbers mean, how to interpret the position of the hands on a clock to tell the current time, etc. Have fun while learning at the same time!
Materials needed:
- We used a circular piece of cardboard for the back and a piece of colored construction paper cut to a slightly smaller circle. You can also use paper plates of various sizes and colors and save yourself the cutting task.
- scissors
- glue
- black construction paper
- markers
- brass fastener (aka brad or split pin)
- number stickers (optional)
What To Do:
- Glue the smaller circle to the middle of the larger one in the center; if using paper plates, glue the smaller one onto the larger one.
- Cut out two arrows for the hands of the clock ensuring one is slightly shorter than the other.
- Secure the hands to the middle of the clock using a brass fastener.
- Write on the numbers for the hour on the inner circle and the minutes in the outter circle. You may choose to use number stickers for the labels instead.
