Tylenol Issues Voluntary Nationwide Recall

Infants' TYLENOL® Oral Suspension 1oz. Grape

February 23, 2012

If you have a baby, chances are you probably have some Infant Tylenol in your medicine cabinet. It appears that Tylenol recently announced a voluntary nationwide recall on its Infants' Oral Suspension, 1 oz, grape flavored drops. The recall has been issued as a precautionary measure and has to do with some complications with the ironically named SimpleMeasure dosing system. It seems there have been a small number of complaints that the "flow restrictor" is being pushed into the bottle when the dosing syringe is inserted.

The recall is limited to retail and wholesale levels so there is no need to panic and return the drops to the store should you happen to have some. If fact, since the recall is not related to the efficacy of the product itself, you can still use it as long as the flow restrictor remains in tact. Tylenol does advise, however, that you not use the product if the flow restrictor does get pushed into the bottle. You can contact the company for more information or to request a refund by visiting their website or calling 1-888-222-6036.
