Homeschool Day at the Smithsonian

Each month will feature multiple topics focused around central themes and include learning stations with educational crafts, scientific tools and other hands-on activities that parents can facilitate.
  • The focus is on the Indian River Lagoon with learning stations on photosynthesis, watersheds and a special opportunity to go seine netting in the seagrass beds! Seining programs will occur at 10:15am, 11:15am and 12:15pm. Seining participants must wear clothes that can get wet and water shoes such as water socks, old sneakers or sandals with a heel strap. All participants must wear shoes and flip-flops are not permitted in the water. Children ages 16 and under must be accompanied by a parent in the water.
