Discover “The Lorax” at the Fort Pierce Library April 18

The Fort Pierce Branch Library presents Dr. Suess’ “The Lorax” (2012) on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM as part of its Saturday Movie Matinee. Following the film, families can stay behind to make a craft out of recycled material in honor of Earth Day.

Featuring the voices of Zac Efron, Taylor Swift and Danny DeVito, this animated feature recreates the Dr. Suess’ book in which a 12-year-old boy searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world. The movie is rated PG with a running time of 86 minutes. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring a pillow or blanket and are welcomed to bring their own snacks and drinks. Children must attend with a parent or caregiver.

Parents are also reminded to stop by the Fort Pierce Library every Wednesday at 10:30 AM for the Pre-K Jamboree and Friday at 10:30 AM for Toddler Time, while the first Saturday of the month is Family Storytime at 10:30 AM and the fourth Saturday of the month is the Outdoor Puppet Theater at 10:00 AM to noon.
