Meet Maddy - Our Macaroni Dog of the Week

I’m Maddy, a 2 year old stunning blue nosed American Pit Bull Terrier. I am looking for the perfect home to lie in a nice bed at night and roll around in a big yard during the day. I am really laid back for the most part, except when I get excited for my favorite treat. I walk well on a leash and do not pull. I know sit and how to give you my paw. I pretty much just love life and love to smile, especially when I am around friends. Won’t you be mine?

Maddy is available for adoption at the Humane Society of Saint Lucie County’s Fort Pierce shelter.

Meet Bones - Our Macaroni Cat of the Week

Can you believe my owner just abandoned me and my 2 friends? I do not know why; all I know is I would really like a family to call my own again. I am a pretty mellow cat who enjoys a walk in the great outdoors. After a nice stroll I like to chow down on some Fancy Feast and take my afternoon nap. I really like being around kids so after my nap I am ready to play once they get home from school.

Bones and his furry friends are available for adoption at the Humane Society of Saint Lucie County’s Fort Pierce shelter.

The Humane Society of Saint Lucie County is an open admission, non-profit animal shelter, helping more than 8,000 unwanted pets each year, thanks to the support of donors and volunteers.

If you are interested in volunteering your time to help with animals or fundraising or would like to see the other animals that are available for adoption, contact: The Humane Society of St. Lucie County’s Fort Pierce location at 100 Savannah Road in Fort Pierce, (phone 772-461-0687) or our Port St. Lucie facility at 8890 NW Glades Cut-Off Road (phone 772-466-PETS).

Effective 6/4/2014 -  Hours of operation for both shelters are Tuesday - Friday from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM, closed Sunday and Monday. Pet adoptions stop one-half hour before closing on each day.
