Meet Mary and Jane - Our Macaroni Dogs of the Week

Hey everyone! We are two sisters who are looking for a perfect forever home where we can get lots of cuddles and be lap dogs. We were brought in by Animal Control and sadly after we were spayed our owner didn’t want us back because we couldn’t be used for breeding. We are major foodies and enjoy a wide variety of food. We would love to try Italian - we have heard great things. In the play yard we love playing with toys and chasing after tennis balls. Most of the time we will race each other to see who can get their first. We would love nothing more than to share your couch (or the floor) and watch TV with you while giving you lots of kisses. We promise to be good girls and will love you forever!

Mary and Jane are available for adoption at the Humane Society of St. Lucie County’s Port Saint Lucie shelter.

Meet Athena - Our Macaroni Cat of the Week

I am just a sweet little princess who loves to wander around and explore. Yes, I may only have three legs but that won’t stop me from seeing the big world out there! I get along with other cats and dogs, but my first love is my human friends. I hope someone will come along and take me to a home where I can make lots of them! I’ll love you forever!

Athena is available for adoption at the Humane Society of St. Lucie County’s Port Saint Lucie shelter.

The Humane Society of Saint Lucie County is an open admission, non-profit animal shelter, helping more than 8,000 unwanted pets each year, thanks to the support of donors and volunteers.

If you are interested in volunteering your time to help with animals or fundraising or would like to see the other animals that are available for adoption, contact: The Humane Society of St. Lucie County’s Fort Pierce location at 100 Savannah Road in Fort Pierce, (phone 772-461-0687) or our Port St. Lucie facility at 8890 NW Glades Cut-Off Road (phone 772-466-PETS).

Effective 6/4/2014 -  Hours of operation for both shelters are Tuesday - Friday from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM, closed Sunday and Monday. Pet adoptions stop one-half hour before closing on each day.
