The Annual Bonfire & Hayride will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the McCarty Ranch Preserve to celebrate its grand opening. Admission and parking for this event are free. There will be pony rides, petting zoo, bounce houses, kayaking, plus games, fun and entertainment for the whole family.
Live music by Oddessey will be performed from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. The bonfire will be lit around 4 p.m. and the flag retirement ceremony by the United Veterans Group will take place at 7:30 p.m. Folks can also hop on horseback for trail rides around the property.
Boys and girls ages 5 to14 can also throw a line in the lake for the kids’ fishing tournament from 3 to 5 p.m. Participants will need to bring their own fishing pole and tackle and use single hook lures. They should wear eye protection and use the recommended bait; bread, chicken liver or shiners. For more information about the fishing tournament, email Mike Villanti at mvillanti@cityofpsl.com.
Hamburgers, hotdogs and drinks will be available for purchase
Here’s the event schedule:
- Horseback trail rides, 3 p.m. to sunset
- Kids’ fishing tournament, 3 to 5 p.m.
- Live music by Oddessey, 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.
- Bonfire lit, 4 p.m.
- Welcome from City Council and event staff, 5:30 p.m.
- Flag Retirement Ceremony by the United Veterans of Port St. Lucie, 7:30 p.m.
This will be the first of many special events to be held at this location. Residents and visitors will enjoy fishing, guided hiking tours, kayaking and much more.
