Jabra STEALTH - Publisher Review

September 12, 2014
Those of you who know me and have been reading Macaroni Kid since we started know that we do not do many product reviews...In fact, I believe this is only our second one! The main reason for this is that we receive a product in exchange for an honest review and I'm afraid of the predicament we might find ourselves in if the product isn't all that it is cracked up to be. So we generally avoid product reviews altogether unless we have a REALLY good feeling about one. So it was with the Jabra STEALTH headset we agreed to review.

As many who have seen me out and about know, I have a Galaxy Note 2 Phone which is not small to begin with, add to it the Otterbox for protection and this is one big phone to say the least! Putting that thing up to my ear to take calls is not my first choice so I am rarely without my headset and I rely heavily on it as I am on the phone A LOT!

The headset that I have been using over the last year and half was beginning to fail so I was already in the market for a replacement when the opportunity to review the Jabra STEALTH came in from Macaroni Kid National. I've heard a lot of good things about the Jabra brand so I decided to take a chance and give it try.

What can I say....I LOVE this headset!

Out of the box, this headset is small and sleek and it paired seamlessly with my phone. The key things I look for in a headset are background noise reduction, great sound quality on both ends of the call, comfort in the ear, good talk-time hours, long battery life (including stand-by time), and, most importantly, reliable hands-free operation for safety on the road. This headset delivers that and then some!

It was apparent to me the moment I began using this headset that the sound quality was not going to be an issue. When inquiring about the sound quality while on a call, all I have spoken with have commented that the sound quality is excellent - in fact, a few have asked what I'm using and said they'd like to get one, too. The talk-time is outstanding - it starts out with 6 hours on a fully charged battery - and I can't complain about the stand-by time, either. As of this writing, the headset has been on for about 48 hours and I've been on the phone like crazy these past 2 days. Checking the battery now, it says I still have an hour of talk time remaining. According to Jabra, the stand-by time of this baby is 10 days or 240 hours. Not sure if I'll ever be able to test that out since I'm a heavy phone user, but it's looking good so far. The headset is quite small and fits comfortably in my ear, so no complaints there, either.

Publishing Macaroni Kid allows me to work from home so I'm not on the road that much and when we go out to events, MacDad is the pilot. But like most work-from-home moms, for business or otherwise, I do have to venture outside the house on occasion and hands-free operation of my mobile is extremely important if a phone call comes in while I'm driving. The Jabra STEALTH has a smartphone voice control button that allows it to work with Siri or Google Now. When a call comes in, the caller's name (if they're on my contact list) or number is announced and I can answer or ignore using voice commands. I never have to take my eyes off the road or hands off the wheel when using this headset and that makes me very happy!

I am quite pleased with the performance of the Jabra STEALTH and highly recommend it for safety and convenience if your busy life calls for hands-free operation of your mobile phone like mine does!

We were sent a headset for the purpose of this review; however, no compensation was received and the opinions expressed herein are my own.
