August 1, 2014

All good things must come to an end but being home is nice, too!

It was hard to leave our family and friends in Connecticut but after a quick stop in D.C. to visit our son and his wife, we made our way back to Florida earlier in the week. After an extended stay away, I must admit it felt pretty good to sleep in my own bed. It's now time to settle back in and begin the back to school transition. Though I'm not quite ready for MiniMac to return to school, she says she's looking forward to starting 3rd grade and to seeing her school friends again.

The popular Frozen Giveaway came to an end last Sunday. A big congratulations goes out to Ashley U. who was very excited about winning and said her kids "are over the moon about going to the show!" We hope you and your family have a ball, Ashley.

In this week's edition you'll learn about the Live Like Lee Family Benefit Cookout, August events at the Oxbo Eco-Center, and the Free Family Fun Day at St. Lucie Lanes. We'll also share the success story of Terrance McQueen and the Avenue D Boys' Choir. The Books for Big Brothers Big Sisters of SLC Sales event ends this week (August 5th) and don't forget to nominate your favorite businesses in the 2014 Gold Daisy Awards...you could win $50 just for nominating!

IN THIS WEEK'S ISSUE:
