Humane Society of St. Lucie County - Pet Adoption Event!

Shelter Announces a Name Your Own Price Adoption Event and Brick Sale

By David Lynch, The Humane Society of Saint Lucie County July 18, 2014
We are about to enter the “Dog Days of Summer” and what better way to get through it than with a new companion. That is why the Humane Society of St. Lucie County is announcing a two-day event. On July 18th and 19th you will be able to adopt any available cat or dog at both our, 8890 Glades Cut-Off Road and 100 Savannah Road location, for any price you seem fit. Our normal adoption rates are $50 and $90 for dogs, and $75 for cats. We do ask, however, that you make at least a $20 donation to cover the veterinarian expenses for each animal. Each adoption fee includes a medical exam by a veterinarian; age-appropriate vaccinations; spaying or neutering; initial de-worming; a microchip; AIDS/Feline Leukemia testing for cats, and age-appropriate heartworm testing for dogs.

Also, on the same dates we will be holding a brick sale for those interested in purchasing an engraved memorial brick. For $100 you will receive an 8x4 brick engraved in the memory of a lost loved one or pet. The brick will then be on display in front of our new facility located at 8890 Glades Cut-Off Road in Port St. Lucie. The pavers, of course, are not limited to lost loved ones and can be a wonderful way to honor living pets or relatives who have had a great impact on your own life. Each brick can have up to three lines, with twenty characters on each line.

For more information on this event, or any of our available pets please call (772) 461-0687, or visit our website at  www.hsslc.org. Like/follow us on Facebook and Twitter. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pet adoptions stop one-half hour before closing on each day.
