Making A Difference in Saint Lucie County

The Van Duzer Foundation

By A. Paxton January 31, 2013
This week Macaroni Kid PSL is proud to feature The Van Duzer Foundation as an outstanding organization who is Making A Difference in Saint Lucie County.

Founded in 2008 by Scott and Dawn Van Duzer and a small group of like-minded community members, the mission of the Van Duzer Foundation is to “assist families and individuals in St. Lucie County Florida, who are experiencing financial and personal hardship brought about by unforeseen crisis or tragedy.” A recent visit to their website and review of the long list of events the Foundation has been involved with and the honors it has received as a result, reveal an organization with heart and one that has accomplished much in the relatively short period of time since its beginning.

Whether it’s rallying the community to donate blood through its “Be a Hero Day” blood drive, or challenging men to be man enough to don red stilettos and stomp out domestic abuse for SafeSpace, or helping families “recover and rebuild” as they did for Joey Yannucci and his family, and are doing now for injured firefighter Jahwann McIntyre, The Van Duzer Foundation has been a port in the storm for so many of our neighbors in need of assistance.

For nearly five years, the Van Duzer Foundation has found unique ways for everyone to positively impact the community and has raised and donated over $700,000 to Saint Lucie County residents in need. To learn more about the foundation or how you can help them continue making a difference in Saint Lucie County, please visit their website, www.thevanduzerfoundation.org, or call Scott Van Duzer at 772-528-3467.
