Get Ready for Hurricane Season

Hurricane and Emergency Preparedness Quick Guides Available

June 1, 2012
Yup, it's about that time of year again...Hurricane Season. While we all hope that this year's hurricane season will keep all storms away from us, there is always a chance one will head in our direction so we need to be prepared. To that end, The City of Port Saint Lucie now has a revised Hurricane and Emergency Preparedness Quick Guide available and it's FREE.

The guide is a laminated, two-sided reference document that contains all the information you will need to know before, during, and after a storm hits.

The guide, which can be kept in your hurricane survival kit, has a checklist of all the materials that you should have on hand before a storm hits. It also has important phone numbers including the local shelters, as well as other emergency information such as the locations of water and food distribution centers.

Again, the guide is FREE and it will help you get prepared for the upcoming hurricane season. You can pick up a copy of the guide at the following locations:
  • City Hall, Building A - 121 S.W. Port Saint Lucie Boulevard
  • The Community Center - 2195 SE Airoso Boulevard
  • The Civic Center - 9221 SE Civic Center Place
The guide can also be downloaded online. Further, copies of the guide will be handed out at the City's 6th Annual Hurricane Preparedness Expo which will take place at the Civic Center on Saturday, June 16th from 10:00 AM until 02:00 PM.
