Open Arms Early Childhood Learning Center opens summer enrollment

Ft. Pierce, FL – Celebrating the first summer since its opening in August of 2011, the Open Arms Early Childhood Learning Center of Fort Pierce is now accepting enrollment for its summer camp program.

From June 11th to August 17th, Loretta Arensen, the Director of the child care center, will keep children’s minds busy with great learning experiences and education adventures.

Camp themes and activities include lessons in cooking, theater, science, art, sports and the rainforest. Children enrolled in the summer camp will enjoy an array of off-campus field trips as well, including art museums, parks, and mini-golf attractions. In addition, programs such as “Claws, Paws & Critters” and “The Mad Scientist,” which keep students entertained and learning without ever leaving the Center. The final celebration of the summer will be a Hawaiian Luau.

“It’s easy to keep the children entertained and having fun.  The challenge is to provide opportunities for teachable moments, where the children gain practical skills and absorb valuable life lessons,” Arensen said. “Whether it’s learning about teamwork through sports, or healthy eating during cooking camp, it’s our promise to our children and families that they will learn, grow and mature during their time spent with us at summer camp.”

Space for summer camp is limited and enrollment is $120 per week for children ages five to 12 which includes meals. Traditional child care services are also available for children starting at six weeks of age.  Early enrollment for the fall semester is also now open for children ages six weeks to 12 years.
