Welcome to Port Saint Lucie Macaroni Kid!

Publisher's Notes

May 18, 2012

Hello! I hope all of our Macaroni Moms had a wonder and relaxing Mother's Day. I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed my day with my hubby and girls. With the bizzy'ness of life, it sure was nice to slow down and take a day to really be present with my family. Being a "Mom" is a label that I am honored to wear and I am so thankful for my children and proud of the beings they are now and who they are becoming.

Speaking of Moms...Our Mother's Day Giveaway event was a huge success, but truthfully, I am glad that it is over....Whew, a giveaway a day for 12 days just about wiped me out! The giveaway winners and sponsors follow in a separate section below.

This week we are highlighting a couple of community care events that we hope you will support. Our Macaroni Cares article features Harvest Food & Outreach Center and it's Summer Children's Read & Feed Program. There will also be a Cookies For Kid Cancer Bake Sale on Saturday and we hope many of you will consider purchasing your weekend baked goods there instead of the grocer's this week. Finally, Macaroni Kid is asking you to join Dawn's movement of educating kids about the issues affecting wildlife and MK National will be giving one lucky reader an RCA HD video camera to help capture his or her family moments in nature.

With summer quickly approaching, our Summer Camp Guide continues to grow .This week we added the Sunrise Theatre Foundation's Children's Theatre Camp and G.H. Farms' FarmYard Friends Camp. In addition, Open Arms Early Childhood Learning Center has opened enrollment for it's summer day camp program. To check out these and all the other great summer camp options available for your children, click the link on the Summer Camp Guide above to jump directly to the guide.

Finally, do you know all the different ways to use our Macaroni Kid Newsletter and website? This week we have a feature article that will inform you about how to make the most of your Macaroni Kid. I bet there are a few things in there that even our "seasoned" viewers don't know!
