Stroll the streets of Historic Fort Pierce. Our guides will light the way with their lantern through the ancient, strange and unusual tales of centuries past, legendary stories, folk lore and ghostly experiences.

Join Main Street Fort Pierce for a memorable, leisurely walk into the ghosts of Fort Pierce past during the Ghosts of Fort Pierce Past Historic Walking Tour on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 and Thursday, October 27, 2016. Don’t miss your chance to hear the many secrets of Downtown Fort Pierce and the stories of the people who made our town great. You will encounter live characters at every stop! Actors will disclose the history of buildings and the evidence of a “ghostly presence.” 

4 Different Tours -
  • North &  South - Wednesday, October 26, 2016
  • West & Edgartown - Thursday, October 27, 2016
The first tours leave at 5:30 pm with tours leaving every 15 minutes. The last tours leave at 7:30 pm. Each tour includes 10 historic stops. Tours will last approximately 1 to 1-1/2 hours. Cost per tour is $5 per person, children under 5 are free.

Please call Main Street Fort Pierce at 772-466-3880 to set up your time of departure and your choice of tours. We suggest you arrive 15 minutes before your Tour. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Tour size is limited to ensure a high quality experience.


Wednesday, October 26, 2016 

North Tour: Fee’s Hardware & Mortuary, Ashley Gang, the explosion  of cannons detonated by a platoon of soldiers from the Old Fort Pierce, Henry Flagler and the “Night Train”; Annie Hogg, Ms. Elizabeth Palmer, Alfred Hair, Zora Neale Hurston and a visit to Tickle Tummy HIll.

COST: $5.00 per person donation, children under 5 are free

South Tour: Sunrise Theatre with Mom & Pop Koblegard, Sun Trust Building, an authentic blacksmith, Mr. Miley, reporter and editor for the Fort Pierce News; Mr. Klopp, the courthouse architect who was crushed by a 5-ton safe; Mr. Carlton, the historic Fort Pierce Hotel, McCarty Building and Boston House.

COST: $5.00 per person donation, children under 5 are free

NORTH & SOUTH REGISTRATION CHECK IN: Tour leaves from the City Hall Plaza (between the parking garage & City Hall building) on Orange Avenue in Downtown Fort Pierce. (Free parking in the City parking garage)

West Tour: This tour features the builder of the Arcade Building, which has been a popular shopping destination since 1926. Other stops along this tour include: the wife of a cattleman, a postmaster, an Irish priest, a Sandy Shoes Festival theme girl, and more.

REGISTRATION CHECK IN: Tour leaves from the Arcade Building at the corner of Avenue A & US HWY 1 in front of Pot Belli Deli (Free parking at the Arcade Building or in the parking lot north of the Arcade Building off Avenue A)

COST: $5.00 per person donation, children under 5 are free

Edgartown Tour: Tales of "Beanie" Backus and Mrs. Clara Platts at the Platts/Backus House, Mrs. McCarty, grandmother of Dan McCarty, Mrs. Compstock, the gossip of Edgartown, a fisherman, Mrs. Emily Bell Edgartown post office mistress, Annie Hogg at her residence, and Mr. Hill the bee keeper and photographer 

REGISTRATION CHECK IN: Tour leaves from the Platts/Backus House at the corner of Avenue C & 2nd Street (Free parking at the corner of Avenue C and Indian River Drive and across from Platts/Backus House)

COST: $5.00 per person donation, children under 5 are free
