Join Manatee Center staff in learning more about our lagoon by exploring the water! Get a crash course in lagoon ecology and scientific methods for learning more about the animals that live there with games, seining and dip netting, and snorkeling. Bring snorkel gear and lunch. Friday, October 29th – Creepy Creatures of the Sea! (10am-1pm)
Come meet the creepiest of creatures in the sea at the Manatee Center! This free family program features games, crafts, face painting and more. Come face-to-face with real anglerfish, deep sea isopods, and many other REAL deep-sea creatures as you learn all about them during our Creepy Creatures presentations throughout the day. Wear your costume to receive a special goody bag! No registration necessary.

Participate in the National Family Volunteering Day by joining MOEC in a riverside cleanup! Trash from cars, boats and businesses wind up in our river every day and it takes dedicated volunteers who care about the environment to help clean it up. No cost to participate. Just because it’s winter break doesn’t mean you can’t go to camp! Join the Manatee Center for a Winter Break Mini-Camp where we’ll explore our local ecosystems with cool field trips and lots of time in the water.
