The St. Lucie County Library System is excited to announce its 2016 Summer Reading Challenge: “On Your Mark, Get Set…Read!” The challenge runs Saturday, May 28 through Saturday, Aug. 6.
The library challenges every youth (grades K-5) in St. Lucie County to read at least 12 books or for 12 hours this summer. All youth who get halfway win free books, while everyone who completes the challenge will be awarded a Reader’s Medal and a voucher for two St. Lucie Mets tickets at Tradition Field in Port St. Lucie.
Youth who complete the challenge will also be entered into a grand prize drawing and be eligible to win a Kindle Fire or a Superplay USA Family Fun packages. Drawings will be held on Friday, Aug. 12. A Teen Read (grades 6-12) will be run concurrently.
Beginning May 28, readers are invited to stop into any branch library to register and to pick up a reading log.
