Meet Lola - Our Macaroni Dog of the Week

I am a 2 year old Labrador Retriever/Mix who is looking for a home after my owner sadly became ill. I am a very good girl who is quite the lap dog. I just want to feel the warm embrace of a loving family and the occasional belly rub wouldn’t hurt either! I know sit and am housebroken.

Lola is available for adoption at the Humane Society of Saint Lucie County's Fort Pierce location.

Meet Matilda - Our Macaroni Cat of the Week

I am a 5 year old Persian who is very shy but also very sweet. I am just coming out of my shell and am quite the purring kitty when being petted. With our Seniors for Seniors Adoption Program anyone 55 and older can bring me into their loving home with no adoption fee. Unconditional love is priceless!

Matilda is available for adoption at the Humane Society of Saint Lucie County's Port Saint Lucie shelter.

The Humane Society of Saint Lucie County is an open admission, non-profit animal shelter, helping more than 8,000 unwanted pets each year, thanks to the support of donors and volunteers.

If you are interested in volunteering your time to help with animals or fundraising or would like to see the other animals that are available for adoption, contact: The Humane Society of St. Lucie County’s Fort Pierce location at 100 Savannah Road in Fort Pierce, (phone 772-461-0687) or our Port St. Lucie facility at 8890 NW Glades Cut-Off Road (phone 772-466-PETS).

Hours of operation for both shelters are Tuesday - Friday from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM, closed Sunday and Monday. Pet adoptions stop one-half hour before closing on each day.
