September 6, 2018

The City of Port St. Lucie invites the public to gather in front of the Civic Center to reflect on the events of Sept. 11, 2001 and to remember and honor those who lost their lives. This year’s theme is: Liberty and Freedom for ALL - “Remembering the Past and Embracing the Present.” We look forward to joining together as we unite to remember the past and embrace the present.

The ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, adjacent to the 9/11 monument in the front plaza at the Civic Center. Inclement weather will move the event inside.  The remembrance ceremony will include members of the community, local pastors within the community, Masters of Ceremonies will be St. Lucie County Fire District Chief Nate Spera, as well as words from Port St. Lucie Police Chief John Bolduc.

Assisting in the ceremonies will be the St. Lucie County Fire District, Port St. Lucie Police Department, St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, St. Lucie Fire District Honor Guard Pipes and Drums Band and the Port St. Lucie Police Explorers.

After the ceremony, guests will be invited inside the Civic Center for a reception with a light fare.
