DINOSAUR CHALLENGE: It’s SIMPLYFUN!

With the recent theater release of the new Jurassic Park movie, it’s not hard to deny that dinosaurs are a popular subject matter. Not only are there dinosaur movies, TV shows, children’s shows, toys, and electronic games, but there are also board games featuring the dynamic creatures!

Enter SimplyFun and their educational game, Dinosaur Challenge. SimplyFun promotes smarter kids and stronger families through play. Play is key in getting kids to learn old and new educational concepts because it helps kids have fun while learning! Now, if you had the chance to play a fun game and learn your multiplication tables, wouldn’t you rather do that than memorize flashcards?

I was asked to review the new Dinosaur Challenge game from one of my favorite companies, SimplyFun. Dinosaur Challenge helps players with "dinosaur facts and situational analysis." Two to four players, ages 10+, can play for a minimum of 10 minutes in choosing “the dinosaur with the correct traits to beat out the other dinosaurs and win the most challenges.”

My family and I played Dinosaur Challenge to find it is fun and educational. You can learn a lot about dinosaurs playing this game. We aren’t really a competitive family, but given the random dinosaur cards it was fun to beat each other through the challenges. With the 18 Dinosaur Challenge cards the game began with my youngest (age 11) reading the top Challenge Disk card aloud. We looked at our cards and picked the Dinosaur we thought could beat the challenge. My oldest (age 14) was the winner of the first round and we kept paying until one of the players (me, oops was that OK?) won. But not so fast, did I really win? Each of us had to use analytical skills and read about each challenge. If you have ever read anything about dinosaurs, they can be hard to figure out who is really the best to complete these challenges we were given. But it was fun; we laughed (we always do) and we all learned a lot more about dinosaurs to use this knowledge at our next dinner party! Well, maybe we will bring out our wealth of knowledge and test the crowd! So, to condense this review – Dinosaur Challenge is SIMPLYFUN!
